The Nightingale Initiative
for Global Healthcare Transformation
The Nightingale Initiative for Global Healthcare Transformation provides confidential private clinical mental health treatment for mental health challenges within the NHS nursing staff
85% of medical practitioners have experienced problems with mental health but have never sought out treatment
There are 320,000 nurses in the NHS yet only 1% reach out for a helping hand. Each year between 30-60 nurses take their own lives
The annual suicide rate within nursing is nearly 25% above the national average. Most nurses feel unable to ask for help.
Over 50% of nurses rated the support for their mental wellbeing as "Inadequate" or "Very inadequate" only 11% overall rate it as "Good"
There is currently no provision to provide confidential clinical intervention within the NHS for nursing staff
IN THE PAST DAYS and WEEKS DEMAND FOR CONFIDENTIAL CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH FOR OUR NHS NURSES HAS SKYROCKETED.
AS COVID REDUCES IN SEVERITY, IT'S REVEALING SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN KNOWN WAS COMING:
THE HUGE BACKLOG OF HEALTHCARE DELAYED BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC.
WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP TO LOOK AFTER OUR NURSES. ANY DONATION, NOT MATTER HOW SMALL, WILL HELP US HELP OUR NURSES.
How does the service work?
We are establishing a network ‘volunteer peer champions’ to whom
nurses/midwives/HCAs may approach in any geography,
completely confidentially, to gain access to virtual clinical mental health sessions, available on-line both after hours and on weekends.
We’re still raising funds to treat our nurses, so please if you can contribute and let friends, family and colleagues know about our charity. Ask them to do the same.
Feel free to reach out to get on the waiting list for this free clinical treatment.
When we have raised adequate funds, we will extend our support to other elements of the Health & Wellness community
